UT Apple Store
The UT Campus Computer Store is an Apple Authorized Reseller and Repair shop. We offer nearly all of Apple's hardware and software products at special student discount pricing and our repair staff is Apple certified.
In-Store Sales
Below are links to our pricesheets which list the items available locally in our store. Any special we list on our site is only through us and does not necessarily reflect any specials or deals being promoted by Apple Computer.
In-house we are able to perform several upgrades to Apple Computers without voiding your warranty through Apple, including but not limited to Hard Drives and Memory. For information and pricing on other items, please send us an e-mail at uccs-repairs@utk.edu.

Te prices we offer to students and faculty in-store are typically the same as you would find on Apple's own Education website. However, from time to time we have special promotions and deals which can only be found in-house.
To view these specials, please visit our Specials Page.
Apple's Online Education Store
If you would like to order a customized laptop, or a part that we do not offer in the store, you are more than welcome to use the University of Tennessee at Knoxville's own section of Apple's Online Store. To access the store, click on the links below.
Snow Leopard
With the release of Mac OS X 10.6 "Snow Leopard", Apple has done some fairly significant changes to its venerable OS. The most important one to note is that Snow Leopard does not support any form of PowerPC based Apple Computer, so if you have a PowerMacintosh or PowerBook with a G3, G4 or even G5 processor it will not be able to run Snow Leopard. It is designed for Intel-based Machines only, such as the MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro, MacBook Air, or the current run of iMac's and Mac Mini's.
To tell if your machine can run Snow Leopard, a simple and easy way is to look at Apple System Profiler. To open this, click on the Apple Menu in the upper-left hand corner of your screen, then click on "About This Mac". Once that window pops up, click on "More Information..." and the Apple System Profiler will open. In the first window you see when the program opens there should be a row called "Machine Identifier".
If "Machine Identifier" Reads "Power--", then your machine cannot run Snow Leopard. If you have any questions, Apple has setup a page to answer most questions, which you can access here. If you still have any questions, please e-mail us at uccs@utk.edu.
Additional information can be found on Apple's official Snow Leopard Website. You can also find a fairly comprehensive list of known-compatible and non-compatible software here.
Customization
If you wish to have a machine custom configured, either with a larger HD or an increase screen size/resolution or processor speed, please follow these instructions:
- Click on the link above which best fits you, i.e. if you're buying it with your own money click on Student discount link (this includes staff personal purchases), and if your department is paying for it click on Departments.
- Configure the machine as you wish, then print out the configuration! Apple's website does not save these configurations so we are not able to look them up later if we do not have a hard copy.
- Do not wait around for long before bringing in the machine specifications you wish to order. Apple has a typical machine update time of around 6-10 months from the announcement of each line, and there are often incremental price changes and updates inbetween, so if you wait a month or so before bringing in a configuration there is a possibility that it is no longer offered or has a different price, etc.
- If you would prefer to have your purchase come directly to your home - Order Here - Please understand the Apple Store for Education will not honor our in-store promotions
Ordering
We only accept personal web orders from students and faculty who are off-campus. If you are local, please come by the store to place an order. If you would like to custom order a Mac, simply add the printout of the custom configuration to the list of items you return to us in the below instruction sets:
- If you are a student or the parent of a student, please click here.
- If you are faculty/staff, please click here and follow the instructions present. You can also choose to do a Payroll Deduction, in which case click here.
